APC Haywards Heath

Overview
APC Haywards Heath provides specialist education for young people aged 12 to 18 receiving inpatient support at The Harbour Unit for acute mental health needs, including emotional difficulties, mental health challenges and eating disorders. Based within the grounds of the Princess Royal Hospital, education forms an important part of each young person’s wider treatment and recovery.
Our team provides education from Key Stage 3 through to Key Stage 5, with personalised timetables shaped around each student’s individual needs, circumstances and goals. A broad range of academic and creative subjects is complemented by enrichment opportunities, helping young people continue making progress while supporting their social, emotional and physical wellbeing.
Working closely with health professionals, families and each young person’s school or college, we help maintain continuity during their time at Haywards Heath. Education is about more than keeping up with learning. It provides routine, purpose and opportunities to rebuild confidence at a time when other areas of life may feel uncertain.
Preparing for what comes next is an important part of the provision. Learning and transition planning work together to help young people maintain progress and feel ready to move into their next setting with greater confidence.
