APC Lancing

Our Lancing Centre provides a vibrant and nurturing environment for pupils from Reception through to KS4.

Here, structured teaching is balanced with creativity and curiosity, helping young people grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Every lesson 
is designed to engage learners, build confidence, and foster the independence they need to move forward with purpose.

Behaviour intervention plays a key role in our approach, helping young people build emotional awareness, develop positive behaviour for learning, and strengthen essential life skills. Through reflective practice, open discussion, and targeted support, students learn to manage challenges, make positive choices, and better understand the impact of their actions within a safe and supportive environment.

We also collaborate with the APC Curriculum Access Team (CAT), which supports mainstream schools through proactive, intervention-led work aimed at preventing exclusion. CAT provides guidance and strategies that promote positive behaviour, enabling students to stay engaged in learning and remain part of their school communities.

At Lancing, pastoral care underpins everything we do. Families are actively involved in their child’s journey, and strong community connections ensure each learner is supported both inside and outside the classroom. Our aim is simple: to help every young person re-engage, refocus, and reintegrate not just into education, but into life with confidence and self-belief.
